Send a read receipt Outlook Print E-mail

How to send a read receipt message in Outlook

Read receipt message are great to make sure that the people you have sent the email to have actually read it. This is an indispensable option for any business of any importance. It's like having a fax receipt copy or a stamped registered mail receipt.

With a read receipt, the other party can't claim that they never got your email in future correspondence if they accepted and confirmed they read the information you sent to them.

However, read receipts should be used with precaution and only for important situations. Some spammers have been known to use read receipts requests and more often than not, recipients will refuse to acknowledge the read receipt.

It is best to use this method for business correspondence where the recipient has you unblocked from their spam filters. A read receipt sent to a stranger is highly inefficient and will rarely get read because of the spam problem mentioned above.

In Outlook after the compose message window is open follow these steps:

On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click E-mail Options.
Click Tracking Options.
Select the Read receipt or the Delivery receipt check box.

Good luck with your business!
