Importing and Exporting Data Outlook Print E-mail

Importing and exporting Microsoft Outlook data 

When doing a system restore ( reformatting the hard drive ) or buying a new computer, moving or just needing to transfer Outlook to another computer,  you need to do a back up.

This tutorial will tell you how to save your contact info, emails and everything in Outlook except password and email settings.

Exporting Outlook PST file to your desktop

Go to files>import and export

Choose "export to a file", click next, click Personal file folder, click next

"Select folder to export from" select all by clicking the small box, make sure to check the "include sub folders box" on the bottom of the window.

Click next, choose your option, choose your folder, BE CAREFULL, don't export to the default Outlook location, export to your Desktop or somewhere you can see it!

Getting the data back, importing back to your new Outlook installation

Go to files>import and export

Choose "import from another program or file ", click next, click Personal folder file (.pst) , click next

Find the file in the browse window, click next, click finish and you're done!
